GHANA IN WORSHIP

As Ghana readies for Election 2012 come 7th of December, the Christian community has also intensified its efforts  to ensure that there is Peace before, during and after the election. Most churches if not all are engaged in various activities be them all night services, fasting and prayer sessions, Talk Sessions with officials of NCCE etc. etc. seeking the face of the Almighty to ensure that #PEACE reigns supreme all in this election season.

Happening this Friday & Saturday, Nov 23 & 24, @ Conference Centre, 6pm each night is GHANA IN WORSHIP with Rev. Eric Kwapong and a host of other anointed men of God in music ministry and i must say some of my personal favorites in Ghanaian contemporary gospel music.

Rev. Tom Bright-Davies, you would love the ministration of this man i have heard so much about though am yet to be under his ministration in person and so i won't be missing.

Min. Danny Nettey, the man i call the Grand Papa of Contemporary Gospel Music in Ghana. I have heard and seen him minister on numerous occasions and i always wonna have more with his heavy voice that dishes out soothing and rasping plus arresting vocals.

Nii Okai Okai, a minister i would call a friend and brother who does amazing things with his vocal range that's just out of the ordinary but most importantly grooming n nurturing a generation of soldiers in ministry with the Harbour City Mass Choir HCMC.

Ps. Ify Eborta, well i know very little about this minister but 1 thing that is for sure is the fact that once she's part of the gathering then you should be ready to receive from the throne room through her ministration.

Cwesi Oteng, well what more can i say on this Swagnificient n #GodDeyBless dude.

All these ministers would be backed by Flo'Riva Inc, Mercy Project Mass Choir & Fusion, expect nothing but the best praise and worship to be lifted up to Our maker.

It's free ......... don't miss out!!! It's this Friday & Saturday inside the Accra International Conference Center, AICC 6pm each night make a date and be on time .... Ghana in Worship for Peace & Accelerated Development!!!

New Single - Cwesi Oteng

After dropping 4 hit singles #Okurayen, #Mercy, #GodDeyBless and finally #KabiYesi the praise anthem before finally releasing his much anticipated album "The Mercy Project", the GodDeyBless dude and the "Swagnificient" dude is at it again with another hit single titled #LoveMeSo, which am sure is the unofficial 1st release off his next album "Mercy Project 2" ............... shhhhhhh don't say I told you ooooo.

Even before his first full album dropped the "God Dey Bless" hit singer had won a number of awards both on the local and international scene notable amongst them being the Best Gospel Video @ the 2011 4Syte MVA Awards with the 1st single #Mercy", and then most recently his 2nd single #GodDeyBless video also won Africa's Video of the Year @ the 2012 Africa Gospel Music Awards.

#LoveMeSo is cast in the same mold as it predecessors but sounds more like a fusion of #Mercy n #GodDeyBless being somehow mellow n yet still a banger that you can rock to anyday. The theme of the song as the title suggests is Love, the unconditional Love of God for His children and features a rap by KingsKid which is very apt and on point.

If you still haven't heard it then please follow this link to download it and enjoy. It's a definitely hit.

First Time Ever-Helen Yawson

Finally finally finally i get to write something. Been a long while and ohhh what a way to get back but with a piece on the Lady i choose to call, the Cece of Ghana, well she has lived in London for a long while before coming to Ghana but still for me she sure is the First Lady of Contemporary Gospel Music in Ghana, Pst. Mrs. Helen Yawson. I fell in love with her voice even before i got to know her name.

First time i heard her sing i was soo sure i was hearing a song by Cece Winans and it was a cd being played but when i asked i was told the Lady who's voice i just heard is the wife of the Head Pastor of KICC, Ghana and for the very First Time ever in Ghana she would be Live in Concert @ "He Put A New Song In My Mouth" - Ps 40:3.

I have witnessed her minister at a number of concerts but never have i been at a concert she's headlining and in my opinion this concert is long overdue. For a Pastor who specializes in song ministration, voice coaching n workshops you can expect the very best of vocal artistry today, Sunday the 21st of October, from 5pm inside the main auditorium of the KICC Dominion Centre, off Coca-Cola Roundabout on the Spintex Road. Rate is a cool GHc15 for Regular and GHc30+Free Album.
Guest artiste on the night would be my man of the moment, the guy with the name "Swagnificent" on twitter and known all over Ghana as the "God Dey Bless Dude" Cwesi Oteng and his backers Flo_Riva Inc and you can be rest assured that Fusion would be in the house. A bird whispered to me that Fusion would be playing for Pst. Helen Yawson so you know what to expect.
This event is powered by Charterhouse You can't afford to miss out. See ya!!!!

GDBGH - Really a Blessing

Last Sunday the much talked "God Dey Bless Ghana" Concert hosted by Cwesi Oteng and FloRiva Inc. came off and it surely lived up to its billing of being the biggest Contemporary Gospel Music Event of the year. Even before 4pm people had started entering the event hall in all eagerness to be part of history. It took quite a while to get them out and check tickets for them to re-enter so the show could start at the stipulated time.

By 4:45pm the main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre, AICC, was almost fully filled and the guest were being welcomed by some melodious jazzy renditions by CrossFire which was received very well by the audience as shown in the applause they received when they ended their session setting the tone perfectly for the main acts to begin.

But even before the first act by Ms Penjani Ng'uni from Zambia, who lost her luggage on arrival in Ghana, there was a powerful ministration by Francis Amoo who did an oratorio with the Ghana Dance Ensemble. After that he gave the opening prayer and continued with a Worship and Praises session during which the lights went off but the audience put on their fones to light up the hall and kept singing even without instruments till lights were back on.

Ms Penjani Ng'uni who sometimes ventures into the prophetic gave a message to Ghana from the Lord saying we would have peaceful elections come December and also said Ghana is a very blessed nation and that as Ghanaians we should always be grateful for that.

Mounting the stage to minister after her was another Gospel Diva this time from Ghana, Ohemaa Mercy, looking resplendent in a white Kaba n Slit, she had the whole hall singing and dancing as she sang hit after hit from her repertoire of dance able tunes.

After Ohemaa Mercy and before the main act of the evening was Min. Danny Nettey, Ghana's own Grand Papa of Contemporary Gospel Music and man did he bless the house. His easy going slow harmonious and melodious flow of singing was so refreshing and soothing that you would even forget you were standing on your feet and swinging to the tunes till they stopped and that's exactly what happened with the audience whiles he ministered.

Finally, the ministration of Cwesi Oteng backed by FloRiva Inc, plus a strong 120 man Mercy Project Mass Choir and "Fusion" on instruments was unleashed on the expectant house. From the moment Fusion started with the intro to the last sounding of a drum or keyboard the house stood, sang and danced unless Cwesi asked that they sit and listened. After a strong introduction by "Fusion" Cwesi mounted the stage after his 6 man FloRiva Inc backers suited like militants of the Almighty ready to war in music and ministered songs like Meyewode, Jehovah, Lord You Are Good, Worship Medley, Mercy and then the 2 most anticipated songs KabiYesi and God Dey Bless which came with some wild choreography especially God Dey Bless with the current Malta Guiness Street Dance champions. And then Cwesi was off after giving the closing prayer, leaving Prince Henry to lead Okurayen to take the guests home.

Unfortunately Tim Godfrey & Xtreme Crew (Nigeria) could not be present to help us praise our Daddy due to flight issues.

The Concert which was emceed by Fifii Folson of Sunny FM and Jeremie of YFM, also served as a platform for the launch of the Mercy Project Album which has taken over 2yrs to put together. Every guest at the concert took home a copy of the powerful Mercy Project album that has the hit tracks #Mercy, #God Dey Bless, the Praise anthem #KabiYesi, the uplifting #Okurayen and others like  #Lord You Are Good which is a definite hit, #Meyewode, a #Worship Medley and the soulful #Jehovah plus a bonus track #Jesus No Dey Fail.

God indeed Blessed all who attended so taaaaaaaaay.

The Concert was proudly sponsored by First Capital Plus, CDH, Stratcomm, Stanbic Bank, Global Outdoors Systems, DDP Outdoors, CCML and Structures. Media partners etv Ghana, JoyFM, OkayFM, Peace FM, Sunny FM, Sweet Melodies FM, Happy FM and Citi FM and Powered by Episode 7 Events, Cwesi Oteng Ministries and FloRiva Inc.

10days More - Cwesi Oteng

With barely 10days to go till the biggest Gospel concert of the year dubbed "God Dey Bless Ghana" hits town, preparations have just been shifted into over drive. As the organising team drives ticket sales and all the main protagonists have set shop with rehearsals and recording even including all night rehearsals.

The man hours being put in to making this concert the best ever is simply amazing. I had an opportunity to be present last night during 1 of these rehearsals and it was just something else. Let me be a lil "kokonsa" here, there have been new twists to "Mercy", "God Dey Bless" has been infused with 2 rap verses and "KabiYesi" has just been upgraded. If you want to experience what am talking about then don't miss this concert.

Cwesi Oteng & the Flo'Riva Inc. are very good not saying just because i really like them but these guys can sing, and if they get backed by the crazily talented n ever creative "Fusion"(Instrumentalists), then expect the unimaginable. They play some of the craziest stuff i have ever heard musically LIVE. There would also be a strong 120man Mercy Project Mass Choir in attendance.

Other Artistes on the bill include Tim Godfrey & Xtreme Crew (Nigeria), Min. Danny Nettey (Ghana), Penjani Ng'uni (Zambia), Ohemaa Mercy (Ghana).

Deitrick Haddon rocks Ghana

The 15th of September, 2012, would forever be engraved in the minds n hearts of many Ghanaians until probably the man, Deitrick Haddon arrives back in this country to headline another show and even then the 1st time would always be the best.

Coming on stage clad in an all white attire with matching white boots to resounding adoration from the packed to capacity auditorium, i believe if the roof could it would have caved in. From the first decibel of his his vocal range to the last act of putting the mic back on the stand and blowing kisses and waving goodbye to the audience, all in the room stood and rocked with him. You just could not remain in your seat. The concert had been sold out days before and people had to be driven away because there wasn't enough room.

He sang songs like "Mighty God", the ever popular "He's Able", "I got to Praise", "Well Done", etc and then ended it all with the soulful "It all belongs to You". He had the whole auditorium singing every single line of every song with him which had him remark "Ghana knows my music! They knew the words 2 every song & sang every note 2 me!! I enjoyed singing with them".

He again remarked "What a night! We worshipped, danced, praised & we cried. This is the way it should be every time! Glory 2 God. I can't wait to get back to Ghana .... I got a feeling that God is not finished .... I gotta get back soon. He promised to be back in Ghana and maybe record a full album right here in Ghana. And oh he didn't end in his white long sleeved caftan somewhere in the middle of the show he changed into a long sleeved dark blue caftan.

The American gospel sensation, a native of Detroit is a 2012 Dove Award winner, 6 Time Stellar Award winner, 2 time Grammy nominee, Film Producer and a Spiritual leader with a Doctorate of Divinity. He's produced 2 movies already titled "Blessed & Cursed" and "A Beautiful Soul" which was recently released. A third 1 titled "G-Street" would be released soon.

Deitrick Haddon is for me the most dynamic songwriter and minister with a specific anointing for young people and his music even appeals to them that do not know Christ.

The show dubbed "Sing Out For Peace" was organised by Living Streams International. He performed along side DSP Kofi Sarpong, who opened the show after being introduced by Mc's for the nite Kojo Opong of Sunny FM and CEO, of Allure Ghana, Kokui. Then came Funny Face who was his usual funny self with clean jokes n some wild dance steps.

There were reps from the various Political Parties as the even was geared towards maintaining Peace before, during and after the December elections. Monarch Praise then took to the like they owned it and ministered powerful before Selina Boateng took over to bless all present. Before Monarch Praise appeared for their 2nd ministration more peace messages were delivered.

On the whole it was a night to remember and i honestly look forward to seeing Deitrick Haddon live in Ghana again soonest.

Mercy Project Album

Come the 30th of September the stage would be set for the launch of the most anticipated album by a recording gospel artiste in Ghana. The build up to this day started way back in 2010 when the 1st official single on the album "Mercy" was released.

Even before the full album drops the "God Dey Bless" hit singer has won a number of awards both on the local and international scene notable amongst them being the Best Gospel Video @ the 2011 4Syte MVA Awards with the 1st single "Mercy", and then most recently his 2nd single "God Dey Bless" video also won Africa's Video of the Year, @ the 2012 Africa Gospel Music Awards.

The 3rd official single "Kabi Yesi" which was released just this Monday has already had over a 1280 plays on www.soundcloud.com and if the number of plays this song has had on my side alone and a few people i know is added am sure the figure would be in the 2000's by now.

Again the date is 30th September, 2012 @ the main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre, AICC. Its going to be a Holy Ghost crazy jam. Keep the date locked for "God Dey Bless Ghana" Concert. God go dey bless us so taaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

My Take on Cwesi Oteng's "Kabi Yesi"

I guess its been almost 24hrs since I started listening to "Kabi Yesi" by Cwesi Oteng first online @soundcloud and then later when I downloaded the song. Played it on the laptop in the office till i left for the town and continued listening on ma fone till i got home and then again on the laptop thru ma system and that was when the full import really hit. Here it goes:

The instrumentation by Fusion is sick with the organ at the beginning very mellow and soothing giving it a worship feel as the appellations rain in and i must say Nana Asaase nailed them. Then i hear a hint of local drums like the "fontonfrom" and the high harts and then finally the trumpets sound and am like wow let's go. Once again the drums, lead n bass guitar and all the parts are so well arranged that i must salute Flo_Riva Inc you guys are jus somfin else. As the song progresses the kind of hide n seek the trumpets play with your mind is refreshing. They never sound when u wanna hear them and just when you fink the won't sound the do.

Sorry for writing plenty on this 1 but i guess when u listen to 1 song for 24hrs that's what happens to you. Not done but had to end somewhere so watch out for the rest later here or on twitter.

If you still don't have the song just download with the link below:

"Kabi Yesi" - Cwesi Oteng

Like earlier stated preparations are far advanced for the biggest Gospel Concert to hit the capital in a long while as Cwesi Oteng aka the "God Dey Bless" Dude and his FloRiva Inc mates rock as all with the "God Dey Bless Ghana" concert on 30th September inside the main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre, AICC.

As part of the preparations one single that a lot of people have been waiting to hear is "Kabi Yesi" which is from the Nigerian Yoruba dialect and means "Incomparable and Unquestionable God" is finally ready to be released after VGMA Engineer of de year 'Kaywa' mixed and mastered it.

An Anthem of Praise is what God's People should expect. Get ready Ghana the song drops 2day so let your be on the listen. It would get you dancing one time. I have listened to the unmixed version and it was swell so the mixed and mastered should blow you away.

Ma B of Lyfe - Boisterous

When you check the synonyms of the word above it gives you a whole range of words that makes me go like ahhhh. There are a lot of positives than negative association to it and that makes believe that in as much us we would wish for all the good things in Lyfe we should never lose sight of the bad things for they would definitely come but when they do its up to us to choose what we would make of them.

Words like energetic, lively, animated, active n overexcited are all positive synonyms not forgetting the negatives like rowdy, unruly n noisy but even in the negatives we could always turn it around to our benefit if we make a conscious effort to do it.

Be Ambiguous n Boisterous in a positive outlook on Lyfe
