First Time Ever-Helen Yawson

Finally finally finally i get to write something. Been a long while and ohhh what a way to get back but with a piece on the Lady i choose to call, the Cece of Ghana, well she has lived in London for a long while before coming to Ghana but still for me she sure is the First Lady of Contemporary Gospel Music in Ghana, Pst. Mrs. Helen Yawson. I fell in love with her voice even before i got to know her name.

First time i heard her sing i was soo sure i was hearing a song by Cece Winans and it was a cd being played but when i asked i was told the Lady who's voice i just heard is the wife of the Head Pastor of KICC, Ghana and for the very First Time ever in Ghana she would be Live in Concert @ "He Put A New Song In My Mouth" - Ps 40:3.

I have witnessed her minister at a number of concerts but never have i been at a concert she's headlining and in my opinion this concert is long overdue. For a Pastor who specializes in song ministration, voice coaching n workshops you can expect the very best of vocal artistry today, Sunday the 21st of October, from 5pm inside the main auditorium of the KICC Dominion Centre, off Coca-Cola Roundabout on the Spintex Road. Rate is a cool GHc15 for Regular and GHc30+Free Album.
Guest artiste on the night would be my man of the moment, the guy with the name "Swagnificent" on twitter and known all over Ghana as the "God Dey Bless Dude" Cwesi Oteng and his backers Flo_Riva Inc and you can be rest assured that Fusion would be in the house. A bird whispered to me that Fusion would be playing for Pst. Helen Yawson so you know what to expect.
This event is powered by Charterhouse You can't afford to miss out. See ya!!!!

GDBGH - Really a Blessing

Last Sunday the much talked "God Dey Bless Ghana" Concert hosted by Cwesi Oteng and FloRiva Inc. came off and it surely lived up to its billing of being the biggest Contemporary Gospel Music Event of the year. Even before 4pm people had started entering the event hall in all eagerness to be part of history. It took quite a while to get them out and check tickets for them to re-enter so the show could start at the stipulated time.

By 4:45pm the main auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre, AICC, was almost fully filled and the guest were being welcomed by some melodious jazzy renditions by CrossFire which was received very well by the audience as shown in the applause they received when they ended their session setting the tone perfectly for the main acts to begin.

But even before the first act by Ms Penjani Ng'uni from Zambia, who lost her luggage on arrival in Ghana, there was a powerful ministration by Francis Amoo who did an oratorio with the Ghana Dance Ensemble. After that he gave the opening prayer and continued with a Worship and Praises session during which the lights went off but the audience put on their fones to light up the hall and kept singing even without instruments till lights were back on.

Ms Penjani Ng'uni who sometimes ventures into the prophetic gave a message to Ghana from the Lord saying we would have peaceful elections come December and also said Ghana is a very blessed nation and that as Ghanaians we should always be grateful for that.

Mounting the stage to minister after her was another Gospel Diva this time from Ghana, Ohemaa Mercy, looking resplendent in a white Kaba n Slit, she had the whole hall singing and dancing as she sang hit after hit from her repertoire of dance able tunes.

After Ohemaa Mercy and before the main act of the evening was Min. Danny Nettey, Ghana's own Grand Papa of Contemporary Gospel Music and man did he bless the house. His easy going slow harmonious and melodious flow of singing was so refreshing and soothing that you would even forget you were standing on your feet and swinging to the tunes till they stopped and that's exactly what happened with the audience whiles he ministered.

Finally, the ministration of Cwesi Oteng backed by FloRiva Inc, plus a strong 120 man Mercy Project Mass Choir and "Fusion" on instruments was unleashed on the expectant house. From the moment Fusion started with the intro to the last sounding of a drum or keyboard the house stood, sang and danced unless Cwesi asked that they sit and listened. After a strong introduction by "Fusion" Cwesi mounted the stage after his 6 man FloRiva Inc backers suited like militants of the Almighty ready to war in music and ministered songs like Meyewode, Jehovah, Lord You Are Good, Worship Medley, Mercy and then the 2 most anticipated songs KabiYesi and God Dey Bless which came with some wild choreography especially God Dey Bless with the current Malta Guiness Street Dance champions. And then Cwesi was off after giving the closing prayer, leaving Prince Henry to lead Okurayen to take the guests home.

Unfortunately Tim Godfrey & Xtreme Crew (Nigeria) could not be present to help us praise our Daddy due to flight issues.

The Concert which was emceed by Fifii Folson of Sunny FM and Jeremie of YFM, also served as a platform for the launch of the Mercy Project Album which has taken over 2yrs to put together. Every guest at the concert took home a copy of the powerful Mercy Project album that has the hit tracks #Mercy, #God Dey Bless, the Praise anthem #KabiYesi, the uplifting #Okurayen and others like  #Lord You Are Good which is a definite hit, #Meyewode, a #Worship Medley and the soulful #Jehovah plus a bonus track #Jesus No Dey Fail.

God indeed Blessed all who attended so taaaaaaaaay.
